Male Fertility Art & Ritual of Japan
Fertility art and celebrations in Japan, as in early Greece, Rome, and other cultures,
promote sexual health and fertility by stimulating hormone production in the participants and viewers.
Rather than indicating sex-obsessed or sex worshipping societies, these displays simply
acknowledge and honor sex as a natural part of life.
The last two items are depictions of Japanese folk deities.
The first is the fertility goddess Ota Fuku; second is Daikoku, god of abundance.
