Oriental Goddess Art — Apsaras
The next several galleries feature South Asian demi-goddesses called Apsaras,
known in both the Hindu and Buddhist traditions for their dancing,
music, other performing arts, sensuality, and lovemaking.
They are commonly associated with nature spirits, and may be likened to nymphs and muses in Greek lore.
Many images shown here are from Cambodia, including the well known Angkor Wat temple.
